Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift - 13 Week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting patient and employee safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals from nursing admission assessments.
• Provide timely updates on patient information for interdisciplinary team conferences.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education based on health needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching upon admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively among care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and assist in team building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding necessary supplies and training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
• Engage in professional growth and continuing education opportunities.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• BLS Certification prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for specific facilities).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• ICU experience preferred.

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12 hour shifts.
