Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, delivering superior quality in all tasks performed, and promoting an efficient and positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient information and status for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure effective direct patient care utilizing nursing processes.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel and delegate appropriately.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through calm direction and teamwork activities.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
• Identify and pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience required.

Schedule

This position is for night shifts, 3x12 hours per week.
