Registered Nurse - Oncology

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday. Shift hours range from as early as 7:00 AM to as late as 5:00 PM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care to oncology patients following established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques. The RN will demonstrate competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care, assist providers in patient care and education, and actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established standards and practices.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment procedures.
• Participate in patient assessments and care coordination.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of oncology experience.
• Completion of bio/chemo or fundamentals course from ONS (or ability to complete within 2 weeks of hire).
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
• Must meet the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renew BLS every two years.
