Critical Care Registered Nurse - 06:45-19:15 Shift

Job Description

Critical care registered nurses are skilled in providing exceptional care for patients facing life-threatening conditions, such as heart attacks, strokes, and severe trauma. Their expertise is essential in high-stress environments, ensuring that patients receive the life-saving treatment they need.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan individual patient care plans based on patient conditions
• Administer advanced life support and treat wounds
• Assist physicians with medical procedures
• Monitor and document patient vital signs
• Ensure proper functioning of ventilators and medical equipment
• Administer intravenous fluids and medications
• Provide suctioning and other necessary care
• Collaborate with the critical care team
• Act swiftly in life-saving situations according to nursing standards
• Educate and support patient families

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Must hold a valid Texas RN or multi-state RN license
• Experience in critical care settings and willingness to float to lower acuity units as needed
• Must be comfortable accepting a full patient assignment of 6 patients while floating
