Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in the delivery of patient care as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the Registered Nurse. They assume responsibility for patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participates in and implements age-specific care and interactions.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that minimizes medical errors, including verifying correct site procedures and conducting fire safety checks.
• Provides and maintains a sterile atmosphere before and during surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup of instruments and supplies.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment, performing accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts, and ensuring operating rooms are cleaned according to established procedures.
• Safely passes instruments and sharps to and from the surgeon to minimize injury or exposure risks.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must have completed relevant training and maintain current competencies and certifications as a surgical technologist.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
