Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Schedule

Day shift with 3x12 hour shifts scheduled, including every 3rd weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, compliance with hospital guidelines, and the ability to perform nursing assessments within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses.
• Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program on assigned units.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to appropriate care team members.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to first shift.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
