Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the LTAC/Telemetry unit.
• Utilize the Nursing Process for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care tasks effectively based on staff education and experience.
• Supervise and provide direction to assigned nursing personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two to five years of clinical experience in a similar role.
• ACLS and BLS certifications (must be attached to submission; American Heart Association certification required).
• Experience with ventilators and tracheostomies.
• Current Missouri RN or multi-state RN license (must be attached to resume).
