Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, on call every other weekend.
Job Description
The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. This includes extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, other spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for all IR and neurointerventional procedures including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Assist with both sterile and non-sterile clinical support for neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and neurointerventional patient procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and radiation safety practices.
- Instruct students and residents, performing preceptor duties as necessary.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Maintain supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Utilize UHS information systems including IR scheduling online.
- Review coding procedures for accurate billing of all neuro IR and IR procedures.
- Engage in continuous education and training to learn new techniques and technology.
- Adhere to clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising interventional diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain patient and hospital information confidentiality.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures regarding incident reporting.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- New York State license as Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT(R) certification.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- Experience in IR and neurointerventional procedures.
