Interventional Radiology Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8hr Days, with on-call/callback/holiday as per unit needs. There will be 5-7 call shifts per 7-week time block, including 2-4 weekend calls.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technician is responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images and assisting Radiologists during procedures while demonstrating competence in the use of radiologic equipment. The technician will work cooperatively with all department members, ensuring swift resolution of any issues and maintaining a patient-centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist Radiologist during procedures.
• Select exposure factors and ensure diagnostic quality images.
• Maintain department efficiency by aiding in room turnovers and assisting colleagues as needed.
• Ensure medication security is maintained.
• Demonstrate competency across all age groups in providing health care services.
• Uphold confidentiality using hospital systems and handle telephone inquiries professionally.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) certification.
• Two years of experience in a similar role.
• NYS Tech License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• VIR certification is preferred.
