Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit (12H Nights)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled. Nurses must work four weekend night shifts within a four-week schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit will provide care to patients with various conditions, including chest pain, arrhythmias, and those requiring intermediate care acuity. The role involves interpreting telemetry strips, managing drips, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Manage up to 6 patients with a typical ratio of 1:5.
• Titrate medication drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and others.
• Perform assessments and provide nursing care for chest pain, heart failure, post-procedure patients, and more.
• Collaborate with the clinical assistant and other staff for optimal patient care.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new staff and CNAs.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to hospital protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and unexpired RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
