Nights: 18:30 PM - 07:00 AM. Every other weekend coverage required.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with expertise in adult critical care and emergency department settings. The selected candidate will float between various hospitals in the Eastern region, providing essential respiratory care services to patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assess patients requiring respiratory therapy.
• Perform ventilator management and emergency airway interventions (intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care).
• Conduct lung function tests and analyze blood gas samples.
• Administer respiratory medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Provide pulmonary hygiene and patient education on respiratory care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Active New York State license required.
• Current BLS and RRT certifications.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Previous long term acute care (LTAC) experience is a plus.
