Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM EST. On call with 2-3 call shifts per month and holiday coverage as per unit needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan, ensuring adherence to department policies for patient safety. The technologist will coordinate with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging, prepare patients for scans, and explain procedures to ensure comfort. Responsibilities also include inserting IVs when necessary, positioning patients appropriately (including safe handling of patients with limited mobility), and maintaining accurate patient records through EPIC, ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon completion of exams. A clean and safe scanning environment must be upheld at all times.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to scans
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging
• Prepare and comfort patients for their scans
• Insert IVs as necessary for tests
• Position patients safely and effectively
• Document all necessary components in EPIC and assure image transfer to PACS
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State licensure (must obtain prior to starting position)
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Two (2) years of experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Injection therapy certification preferred; must be willing to complete during orientation
• Experience with Siemens or Philips equipment preferred
