Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the company, putting patient and employee safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnosis through collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and succinctly in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to other care providers.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Promote a positive work environment and contribute to team building activities.
• Identify and initiate professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired
