PM Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM, 3x12 hour shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the surgical specialty is responsible for providing high-quality patient care throughout the patient care continuum. The role includes performing comprehensive patient assessments, providing competent clinical skills, and ensuring thorough documentation. The nurse will demonstrate professionalism, prioritize patient satisfaction, and adhere to safety protocols. Responsibilities also encompass specific duties related to pre-admission testing, patient education, and individualizing care for surgical patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and accurate patient assessments across all stages of growth and development.
• Provide direct patient care and demonstrate clinical competence in nursing activities.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient progress and nursing processes.
• Demonstrate professional practice responsibility and adherence to internal policies.
• Respond professionally to patients, families, and coworkers, ensuring excellent patient satisfaction.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and utilize safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Assess patients' understanding of surgical procedures and provide education accordingly.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate pre-admission assessments for appropriateness.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
