7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12 hour shifts per week, with weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Responsibilities

• Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
• Performing intubation assistance as well as ventilator set-up and management.
• Gathering all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient's needs, including patient-specific disease education as well as testing and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
• Developing rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to foster an optimal environment in support of goal achievement.
• Providing and documenting education to patients/caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
• Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
• A strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and their caregivers.
• Exceptional focus on teamwork and delivering the highest quality of care with a strong sense of patient focus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
• BLS - AHA.
• ACLS.
• PALS.
• Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist.
