ED Registered Nurse - Days / Varied Schedule

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position focused on the delivery of age-specific, direct patient care in the Emergency Department. The RN will provide nursing care utilizing the Nursing Process and within the framework of the Department of Nursing Standards of Patient Care and Specialty Specific Standards of Patient Care. The RN will assume leadership responsibilities, including the delegation of work to staff and ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing healthcare provision.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily unit flow and support Team Lead Staff in scheduling issues, including managing call outs.
• Provide direct patient care, including triage, especially during high census periods or in the event of staff call outs that cannot be backfilled.
• Represent the unit at house-wide bed huddles.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
