Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department. This role emphasizes the importance of utilizing the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards and the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients entering the emergency care system, assessing priorities based on physical and psycho-social needs.
• Conduct hourly rounding in the department and half-hour rounding in the waiting room.
• Develop and implement ongoing plans of care tailored to each patient's needs.
• Ensure that supplies and equipment are available and in working order, updating care plans as necessary.
• Manage complications and emergencies in accordance with established policies and ENA standards.
• Document patient responses to interventions to ensure competent medical care.
• Provide health education to patients and their families, including discharge instructions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
