Part Time (2x12s) - day or night shift, scheduled as needed, with every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and data analysis.
• Promotes patient health, safety, and rights while encouraging teamwork.
• Educates patients and families on self-care and post-discharge needs.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing practice and identifies areas for improvement.
• Develops trusting relationships with patients and families, fostering a healing environment.
• Administers medications and interventions safely.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), and NIHSS.
• One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
