Night Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care/NICU

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Night Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional respiratory therapy services in a critical care and NICU setting. This is a 13-week contract position involving collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive timely and effective care.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed by management.
• Perform aerosol therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP mask therapy, incentive spirometry, and M.D.I. therapy.
• Conduct suctioning and extubation procedures, ensuring oxygen tank safety.
• Manage BiPAP-CPAP therapy, high flow cannula/humidifier therapy, and ventilator alarms.
• Perform pulmonary function screens, fit testing, and pulse oximetry procedures.
• Conduct adult and pediatric EKG, as well as BLS for all age groups.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform arterial puncture and analysis for blood gas laboratory.
• Record and report results accurately and manage medication administration and dispensing systems.
• Participate in departmental in-service programs and perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Up to three years of experience in critical care settings, preferably NICU.
• Experience with V60 BiPAP/980 Puritan Bennett Ventilators and EPIC system.
• Graduation from an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy.
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License.
• Registered by the NBRC as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift of 36 hours per week.
