Day shift from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, requiring two weekend nights and holiday call commitments.

Job Description

The Surgical Nurse will work in a Level I Trauma setting, providing preoperative and postoperative care. The nurse will float to the GI unit or Center One Surgery Center as needed. Strong experience in liver and kidney procedures is required, as well as expertise in various surgical techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients.
• Assist in surgical procedures as needed, including scrub and circulate roles.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients pre- and post-surgery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the Cerner charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a Level I Trauma environment.
• BSN is required.
• Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Experience in General OR, Trauma, and various surgical procedures is preferred.
