Job Description

The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for screening GYN and Non-GYN specimens, performing fine needle aspiration (FNA) processing, and conducting immediate adequacy assessments. The role includes preparation of cytology specimens using ThinPrep and familiarity with the Bethesda system for Cytology reporting.

Responsibilities

• Screening gynecological and non-gynecological specimens
• Processing fine needle aspirations
• Performing cytology preparation work
• Conducting immediate assessments for adequacy
• Utilizing the Bethesda system for reporting

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS License is required
• Bachelor of Science with ASCP Registry and/or Certified Cytology School Degree
• Minimum of 3 years of experience screening gynecological and non-gynecological specimens
• Experience with fine needle aspirations
• ASCP and BLS (AHA) certifications are required
