Registered Nurse - Stepdown Unit

Night shift - 3x12 Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in a Stepdown Unit. The successful candidate will manage a diverse patient population, including heart transplant, lung transplant, and kidney transplant patients, as well as those with pulmonary hypertension and other multi-organ issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients in the Stepdown Unit with a 1:4 patient ratio.
• Manage medication titration for insulin and cardiac drips.
• Conduct frequent neurologic assessments and manage care for patients with various neurologic disorders.
• Assist with ostomy care, pain management, and monitor patients on ventilators.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting.
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
• Strong experience with LVAD management is essential.
• Level II trauma center experience required; Level I and Teaching Hospital experience preferred.
