Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist will review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation. The role involves preparing and administering contrast media and medications as ordered, continuously monitoring patient conditions, and preparing necessary equipment and supplies. Safety standards must be implemented, and quality control procedures must be performed on equipment. This position requires troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and reporting as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients regarding procedures and exams.
• Prepare and administer contrast media/medications within the scope of practice.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze imaging results and resolve quality issues as needed.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate degree in radiologic technology; completion of a CT technology certificate program preferred.
• ARRT certification in Radiography (RD) and Computed Tomography (CT) required.
• Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• 2 years of recent experience in Radiology and CT are required.
• Must be able to float between X-ray and CT departments.
