Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for our Stepdown Unit. The ideal candidate will have strong MedSurg Stepdown experience and be proficient in titrating drips and reading cardiac strips. The nurse will be responsible for managing post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Stepdown Unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate medications as per physician orders.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses and house supervisors.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC).
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg Stepdown experience is required.
• Ability to titrate drips, including but not limited to Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro.
• Knowledge of interpreting EKG strips and monitoring patient rhythms.
