Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring optimal safety and comfort for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and assess patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Function well in stressful situations and utilize problem-solving skills.
• May assume duties as a charge nurse, prioritizing and delegating tasks.
• Recognize safety issues and implement safe patient handling practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required; PALS required or obtained within six months of hire/transfer.
• MEDITECH experience required.
• Travel experience required.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Critical care and charge experience preferred.
• Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation, and complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation.
