3x12.0 rotating shift schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as per unit needs.

Job Description

Join a unique adult medical/surgical unit that focuses on patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. This expanding unit is seeking flexible, enthusiastic, and committed nurses to contribute to its growth. Ideal candidates will have medical/surgical acute care experience and a willingness to care for a diverse patient population in a dynamic environment. Nurses will have the opportunity for dual-certification in both medical/surgical nursing and psychiatric nursing upon meeting the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and competent nursing care to patients with complex medical and psychiatric needs.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions regularly, responding effectively to changes.
• Educate patients and families about health management and post-discharge care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN License in New York.
• 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Experience in psychology is required.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
