3 × 12 hr shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend requirements include every other weekend.

Job Description

The Med Surg Float Pool nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Float between all inpatient medical-surgical units, including step down and emergency departments (for med surg holds).
• Provide patient-centered care, following hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain strong EPIC proficiency for effective patient management and documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surge experience.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHHS certification preferred.
