Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist provides quality occupational therapy services to patients in the hospital acute care setting, focusing on patient-centered approaches and functional recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive demeanor and responding to customer needs effectively.
• Plan and prepare individualized treatment programs based on patient evaluations.
• Utilize various assessment techniques and document patient progress in medical records.
• Teach patients and families skills necessary for activities of daily living and evaluate progress.
• Design and adapt therapeutic equipment to assist patients in their rehabilitation process.
• Coordinate activities to promote physical and mental functioning in patients.
• Supervise and instruct assistants and other support staff as needed.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current licensure in Occupational Therapy is required.
• BCLS certification.
• Preferred experience in hospital, nursing home, school systems, or outpatient settings.
