Progressive Critical Care Nurse

Job Description

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. Responsibilities include managing cases of respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Candidates must demonstrate competency in the care of medical and surgical populations and be skilled in advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage according to titration protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage antihypertensive, sedative, and narcan drips.
• Utilize thrombo-embolytics and monitor critical care devices including a-line, CVP, EVD, and ortho traction.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent requirements.
• Maintain competencies in a high acuity patient environment with an average load of 3 patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Epic experience is required.
• ACLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience in large-scale adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) or community hospital ICUs is preferred.

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with shifts from 7 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.
