Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to establish individualized care plans.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all relevant care providers effectively.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Contribute to the positive functioning of the unit and engage in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required and pursue professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
