Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed, promoting patient and employee safety in all aspects of care delivery. The RN will engage in nursing assessments, documentation, and the interdisciplinary care team collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate patient status changes to care providers to support continuity of care.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit function and maintain communication with management regarding supplies and training needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
