Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Emphasizing patient and employee safety is a core value of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and succinctly.
• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care, focusing on education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient’s status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise, train, and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period as needed.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (for specific facilities).
• Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired.
