Full Time 3x12s - day/night shift variable - scheduled as needed by the client with rotations including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data.
• Create individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Promote and protect the health, safety, and rights of patients.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and implement necessary changes.
• Educate patients and families on self-care and lifestyle changes necessary for health and healing.
• Foster teamwork and cooperation among healthcare team members.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and report safety risks.
• Engage with patients/families to create a meaningful connection, focusing on their needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• One (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required.
