Schedule

FT 3x12s - Day or Night shifts scheduled as needed, including every other weekend and holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN develops specialized skills in caring for patients with medical conditions across adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. This role also focuses on patient family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and observation.
• Develops individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
• Promotes and advocates for patients’ health, safety, and rights.
• Teaches patients and families about health care responsibilities post-discharge.
• Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and monitoring patient responses.
• Maintains compliance with infection prevention strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• One (1) Year Experience serving in a Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse Required
