3x12s day or night shift variable (scheduled as needed by client) + every other weekend, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a Healing Environment.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs and creates a developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant, individualized plan of care.
• Promotes and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient while building trust among team members.
• Teaches and evaluates patient/family understanding, emphasizing self-care post-discharge.
• Engages in quality improvement activities to enhance nursing practice and care delivery.
• Develops strong relationships with patients and families by being present, communicating, and anticipating needs.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and follows infection prevention strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required.
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS.
• One (1) Year Experience serving in a Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse.
