Schedule

Full Time 3x12s - day or night shift (scheduled as needed by client) + every other weekend, holidays, and 2 on-call shifts within 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The RN on 3 North develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and analysis of gathered data.
• Creates age-appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plans of care.
• Promotes and protects the health, safety, and rights of patients.
• Teaches patients and families about self-care and health maintenance.
• Documents education provided and patient/family response.
• Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and initiates changes as necessary.
• Develops trusting relationships with patients and families, focusing on their needs.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and compliance with safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or RQI only)
• One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
