Evening shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will primarily work on the 1S Observation unit and may be required to float to other Med-Surg units, such as Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac, as well as the Emergency Department (ED) if appropriately skilled and knowledgeable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the Observation unit, ensuring safety and quality of care.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, with a strong emphasis on recent Telemetry and/or Step-down experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs and progress.
• Float to other units as needed, providing support across various departments.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of current/recent Telemetry and/or Step-down experience.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is required; refresher courses are not an option.
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
• Competency in reading telemetry; candidates will be tested on this skill on the first day.
