Operating Room Surgical Tech

Schedule

12-hour shifts, with rotating day/evening/night schedules. There is flexibility to accommodate 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) provides care for a diverse range of patients across various specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, operating as a level 1 trauma center. The facility is equipped with two Davinci robots utilized by multiple services. The transplant program includes livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
• Manage sterile field and ensure adherence to proper protocols for infection control.
• Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a surgical setting.
• Preference for candidates with operating room experience in a level 1 trauma setting.
• Ability to both scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.
