Schedule

Monday - Friday, Days, on-call/callback, holidays per unit needs (5x8 hours). Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts, expected 2-3 call shifts per month.

Job Description

The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures accurately and efficiently. This includes verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, positioning patients, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images are produced for interpretation by a Radiologist. The technologist will also maintain proper documentation and manage equipment safety and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physician orders before procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Position patients for imaging, including assisting those with limited mobility.
• Ensure patient dose is minimized while using radiologic equipment.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation.
• Notify management regarding equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper image identification and storage.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting).
• 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience.
• Level 1 trauma center experience.
• Experience using C-arm/O-arm within the last 8 months.
• Recent OR experience required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
