Day Shift: 5x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00) with occasional coverage at a reference lab from 09:30 - 18:00.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pathologist Assistant who will primarily assist with the processing of surgical specimens. This role involves performing macroscopic examinations, preparing tissues for histological processing, and ensuring accurate specimen receipt and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and dissect surgical specimens.
• Dictate gross descriptions and perform frozen sections as required.
• Handle bone marrow sampling and tissue sampling for microscopic examination.
• Conduct gross/microscopic photography and image analysis.
• Obtain and review patient clinical information to assist in specimen processing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from a Baccalaureate Pathologist Assistant program or completion of a post-bachelor’s program from an approved school.
• Certification as a Pathologists Assistant (PA(ASCP) required).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Experience with hospital clinical laboratories and familiarity with anatomic pathology histology sections is preferred.
