Schedule

Night shift from 7PM to 7AM, 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care therapy and administers supportive equipment under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services and Technical Supervisors, in accordance with the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy under medical direction, addressing the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
• Assist with intubation and manage ventilator set-up and operations.
• Collect and evaluate comprehensive patient information to prioritize their needs, including disease education and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Build rapport with patients/caregivers and team members to promote a supportive care environment.
• Educate patients and caregivers based on assessed needs in a clear and understandable manner.
• Document all patient interactions and adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Perform physical tasks as required, such as lifting and standing for prolonged periods.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; preferred 3 years.
• Required hard skills include mechanical ventilation management, airway management, and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities required for patient education.
• Current and valid BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
• Current New Jersey Respiratory Care license and NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification are preferred.
