Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Central to this role is a commitment to patient and employee safety, maintaining high standards of care and personal appearance, and participating actively in team dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized care plans by identifying teaching needs and goals.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation and utilize the nursing process in patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety following established policies and procedures.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supply monitoring.
• Assume charge responsibility when requested and actively pursue professional development.

Required Experience/Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to certain positions).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
