Med Surg Float Pool Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

NOC Shift: 19:00 – 07:30, 3 × 12 hr shifts per week, totaling 36 hrs/week.

Job Description

The Med Surg Float Pool nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Float between all inpatient medical-surgical units.
• Provide care for patients in step down and emergency departments (for med-surg holds).
• Adhere to all hospital policies and safety protocols.
• Maintain effective documentation standards and medication safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of med-surg nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHHS certification is required.
• Strong proficiency in EPIC electronic health records.
