Schedule

Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:15 AM with a 36-hour guarantee. Every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Description

The Staff RN works under the supervision of the Med-Surg Nurse Manager and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care on the nursing unit according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The RN also accepts responsibility for the direction of co-workers in the implementation of the patient's plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the Nursing Process by completing nursing assessments of patients and documenting appropriately.
• Develops a plan of care based on patient assessment and implements the plan of care while documenting in the patient chart.
• Evaluates patients' responses to care and updates the plan of care as necessary.
• Oversees the delegation of specific aspects of the patient plan of care to unit staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Med-Surg experience - Required
• Med/Surg Observation experience - Required
• Recent travel work experience - Highly preferred
• LARA and/or Nursys must state active Michigan/MI license - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification - Required
• Two Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years - Required
