OR Technologist - Vascular & Ortho Experience Required

This is a 13-week contract position located in Bronx, New York.

Schedule

4x10 hour shifts from 11 AM to 9 PM. Weekend and holiday work required as needed.

Job Description

The OR Technologist, under general supervision by the OR Manager/Surgery Center Manager, is a vital member of the OR Team. This role involves working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesiologists, and certified nurse anesthetists to scrub for surgical cases, handle instruments and supplies, manage medication, specimens, and instrument cases. The technologist will also assume responsibility for call when fully trained.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical cases, preparing the operating room and managing instruments.
• Handle instruments, supplies, and medications during surgeries.
• Assist in maintaining sterile conditions and practices within the OR.
• May float to Labor & Delivery but this will occur rarely.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR Technologist.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Experience in Vascular and Orthopedic cases is mandatory.
