Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, promoting a safe environment through adherence to safety policies and adhering to protocols regarding personal and environmental safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized patient care plans based on assessment data.
• Provide timely updates on patient status during team conferences.
• Engage in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure accurate documentation.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate with care providers to support continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety following nursing policies.
• Participate in team-building activities to create a positive work environment.
• Identify and seek opportunities for professional growth.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
