Job Description

Under limited supervision, provides direct patient care and manages total nursing care for Med-Surg patients. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care, maintaining relationships across shifts, and collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care for Med-Surg patients.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and staff regarding patient needs.
• Administer medications and intravenous solutions accurately and skillfully.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in patient records.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for new personnel.
• Support infection control policies and procedures.
• Work independently with limited direct supervision.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively.
