Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend/holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to safety policies and procedures while promoting a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs of patients and families, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to support staff and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Promote a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and effective communication.
• Maintain effective use of time and resources while ensuring quality patient outcomes.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH only).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
