Job Description

The Medical Surgical Unit is a 28-bed unit with a diverse patient population, including general, vascular, bariatric, and plastic surgeries, as well as trauma and stroke care. This position offers a challenging and fast-paced environment with great learning opportunities for both graduate and experienced nurses. Nursing on this unit emphasizes patient-centered care, patient safety, and the delivery of quality care for positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
• Utilize clinical pathways and ongoing education to enhance patient care delivery.
• Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Support a positive work environment through teamwork and shared governance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical experience is required.
• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• Current Michigan nursing license required; verification from LARA and Nursys needed.
• Travel experience is preferred.
