Schedule

3 x 12 hour shifts primarily during the day with some late-night, holidays, on-call as needed. No weekends required at this time.

Job Description

An Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN) performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and assists during interventions, such as electrocardiograms, in a clinical setting. The EP RN is responsible for preparing patients for procedures, ensuring all equipment and instrumentation is operational, and monitoring read-outs during procedures. They will assist with lab analysis and assist physicians with the implementation of pacing devices and other cardiac health-related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for electrophysiological studies and ablations as the circulator.
• Maintain the sterile field and assist Anesthesia while documenting during studies and ablations.
• Provide backup pacing during implant procedures.
• Communicate effectively with medical doctors and in-room staff to ensure the availability of all necessary equipment and supplies.
• Facilitate room turnover and timely patient care in coordination with the Charge Nurse and third-party vendors.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York State Registered Nurse License.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical electrophysiology setting.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in moderate sedation is required.
